I want to bring you an update on some marketing trends and what's hot right now.
It's a strange thing to say, but the Google Search market is absolutely on fire in some areas and is ripe for the picking if you've got the right products or service to offer.
The main trend that we are seeing right now is there's a disproportionate amount of advertisers pulling back from their Google Ads and SEO campaigns whilst the smarter, more resourced businesses are moving in and doubling down in these areas and are taking full advantage of the less competitive Google Search space.
Now, while there's less people searching online in some of these areas, there's actually a lot less businesses competing for these customers, which means more sales for those that are still active in Google Search advertising.
Now, the other big trend that we're seeing is that those customers using Google Search right now have a much higher intent, which simply means they are much more ready to purchase now.
So, here's a couple of our clients that are doing very well in this space, and this has just been over the past week, so you couldn't get any fresher data than this one, which means use it to your full advantage in any way that you can.
So, the first is a client that sells garden products online across Australia.
They've had an 11% drop in Google Ad clicks, but their conversion rate has gone up a whopping 41%.
Now, what else is impressive is that their remarketing campaign has had over a 100% increase in conversion rate, and for those of you that don't know what remarketing ads are, they're those ads that follow you around the internet once you've visited a website.
So, with less competition advertising to these customers, our client is capitalising on this opportunity by selling more product for less advertising spend.
Now, why would a business like this be doing so well?
Well, if you think about it, with more and more people in self-isolation and quarantine, now is no better time than any to get all those odd jobs done around the home, so if you've got a product or service that's centered around, like, home improvement, DIY, home entertainment, or home delivery services, now is your time to capitalize.
Next is an older electrical client of ours that's based on the Gold Coast.
Again, ad clicks and budgets have gone down; however, their conversion rate has gone up a whopping 39%.
Now, intent is extremely high, and our client has responded by saying that the inquiries that they're getting are very high quality that are looking mainly for repairs that need urgent attention, and there's a lot less time wasters that are shopping for potential upgrades to four-wheel drives and caravans.
So again, with less competition advertising in this space, our client's reaping the rewards, paying less out to Google and increasing inquiry rates.
So, why would a business like this be doing well?
Because they offer a critical service that people still need.
We all still rely heavily on our vehicles to get us around, and if our vehicle fails, we need it fixed ASAP, so if you've got a product or service that's still in demand, this is your opportunity to take this empty space that's been left vacant by your competition and own it for yourself.
Now, I cannot stress to you how much opportunity's out there right now if you're innovating and making smart, tactical business decisions.
We saw this during the last GFC, and it's happening again right now.
But please be aware that not all Google Search campaigns are smart choices during this period.
